The Thetis Island Volunteer Fire Department (TIVFD) is an entirely volunteer organization that trains diligently to serve the community in fire, medical and public assistance emergencies.
Donors are much appreciated and receive tax credits for their receipted donations.
How to donate
E-Transfer to TIVFSociety@gmail.com
- Cheque made out to Thetis Island Volunteer Firefighters Society and delivered
to:
Graeme Shelford, Treasurer
P.O. Box 615
Thetis Island
BC, V0R2Y0
Cash delivered to either the Secretary/Treasurer or any Fire Department officer.
We also accept in kind donations of publicly traded securities like stocks,
bonds, and mutual funds. These may be donated directly to the Thetis Island
Volunteer Firefighters Society by contacting the Secretary/Treasurer, for
instructions.
Note: The advantage of donating ‘in kind’ securities is that the donor does not have to
pay any capital gains tax on the appreciation of the investment. The tax receipt he/she
receives is for the full appreciated value of the security on the day it is donated.
Contact the Secretary/Treasurer (click on Contact link) for instructions on how to
donate a security.
Contributions made out directly to the Thetis Island Fire Department or TIVFD or
Thetis Island Improvement District are not tax receiptable. They must be made out to
the Thetis Island Volunteer Firefighters Society (TIVFS) to be eligible.
